Britain in Bloom 50th Anniversary
Shevington Community Primary School 200th Anniversary
As a further celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Britain in Bloom, it was decided to install a new golden rose bed in an open space in the centre of the village.
As Shevington Community Primary School was celebrating its 200th year in 2014, we decided to incorporate this celeberation into the anniversary rose bed.
Funding for the project was kindly donated by IKO PLC a local roofing company in Appley Bridge.
Children from the school planted 50 golden themed roses in partnership with the Shevington in Bloom team.
Rose varieties used include Irish Eyes, Golden Wedding and Top Rose.
